Pirates Boarded Danish-Owned Vessel In The Gulf Of Guinea

One of the spokespersons associated with the shipping firm, Monjasa noted that, on Saturday that as per reports, Pirates have been attacked and after that boarded a Danish-owned vessel in the Gulf of Guinea, since then the communications networks have not been working too.

According to the explanation of the associated spokesperson of the shipping major on Tuesday, the 16 crew members sought shelter in one of the rooms of the Monjasa Reformer ship.

The flag of Liberia was flying over the oil and chemical tanker that had been idle and attacked while it was traveling almost 140 nm to the west of Port Pointe Noire, which is based in the Republic of the Congo. As per reports, the Dubai-based firm, Montec, Ship Management which is owned by Monjasa, is operating the vessel.

To keep security and safety in the Gulf of Guinea, Montec reported this tragedy to the maritime cooperation center which is run by the French and British navies. Monjasa reported that the operator works with many relevant maritime authorities of the region in which multiple navies are included.

The Gulf of Guinea was referred to by the International Maritime Bureau (IMB) as the most dangerous shipping route in the whole world. It covers almost 11,000 square kilometers and by stretching up to Senegal from Angola…

The UN Security Council reported that, since the year 2021, all the cases of piracy have been on a decline owing to collaborations between nations around the region with all the struggle of foreign naval vessels.

Denmark, known for their massive commercial shipping interests, placed a frigate in the gulf in the year 2021, for the protection of shipping, but, in 2022, the frigate was fall back due to the spread of the war in Ukraine.

In the year 2021, November, a naval patrol located in Denmark killed four pirates while exchanging fire outside the territorial seas of Nigeria.
